first pictures of my place

just how cool is it to live on a road that rarely ever sees a grader or traffic?

this is looking east

Looking kinda north east at the back side of the property, just a few trees and not hardly any of them are those damned thorn trees!!!  Thank goodness.

this is looking easterly from the intersection.  Its mostly a prairie grass field. There are allot of deer that wander across the place.  Gary and I spent this afternoon hauling dirt up to make the house building pad. Going to build one for the shop tomorrow maybe.  I will take some pics  and post the progress soon.

My Cricket 1-02-00 11-1-11

Cricket came into the family in the spring of 2000, we had decided to get a dog so we went to the pet store. I saw cricket right off the bat and new she was the one for us :O)  She was a little almost hairless little bitty thing, she was so cute.  Bk/ ex wife  wanted another dog but I stuck to my guns and we went home with cricket.  This little girl had problems right off the bat actually,   we noticed that she had tape worms so we had to get her doctored the very next day and the vet told us that she had not been taken very good care of,  it broke our hearts to think that there are people in the world that could miss treat a small little dog like this.   We got her all taken care of and she quickly became a very important part of our family.   She would go every where with us, she even flew on a jet to Florida with us on vacation once lol   That isa whole story in itself :O)
We took many road trips over the yrs, Colo allot,  Texas to the gulf coast,   she went every where we went.  She only missed one trip actually, we went to Colo and left her at the vets office,  what a mistake that was.  I missed cricket allot but BK missed her even more and it just about ruined the whole trip. On the way back home we called the vet to see if we could pick her up early and he said yes so we got her and realized that she wasn't making any noise when she barked.  Made all the motions but she couldn't bark anymore.  She had barked so much that she couldn't anymore.  We decided right then that if we were going to take a trip, she had to go with us!!
In 2005 Bk and I split and we actually had to put in the divorce papers visitation rights so we both could have cricket.  I know lol  crazy huh?  But that is just how much cricket meant to us.  Bk and I ended up getting back together  and life was more or less good again untill this last jan 2011.  Cricket came with me.  Winky and pig (crickets baby's)  they were born in 2006   I sure miss them two also.  Always wondering how they are.  anyway,   cricket and I have spent the last 9 months together almost 24/7 .   only a few hours here and there have we been apart from each other.
Cricket has always been there for me, waiting for me to get home or to go for a ride on the 4wheeler or to go to town for a ride.  She would even ride on the motor cycle with us :O)  should have seen peoples faces when they would realize there was this little ball of fur there with us lol
Cricket was a on the go personality.
The picture above is what cricket was doing when we were in the rv or in the house. :O)  she wasa  master relaxer  :O)

This picture above really doesn't need any explanations about how she felt when we were on the go :O)  as long as she could have the window down and the wind in her face, She was a happy camper. She loved to be on the go as you can see :O)

This is a picture of her in new Mexico, it was a potty break.  If she wasn't  enjoying a rest  she was just enjoying a ride of one sorts or another, or she was on the prowl sniffing and exploring the area around her.  She hada nose that could sniff out anything.     She had a good life, we took better care of her than most people take care of themselves.  I found out while in colo that she had congestive heart failure problems.
I did everything possible to insure that she was comfortable at the end, She died at home with me holding her and comforting her, telling her that I loved her and to go find grandpa (my dad)          I am going to miss this little girl so very much.

I love you cricket

11-1-11

horrible night,   Cricket is gone.  She passed a couple of hours ago, the camper got instantly empty with her passing.  She was my baby girl, traveling companion, she would listen to me for hours.  Right now, I cant even think about it hardly.  My heart hurts.
She fought going, she just didnt have a choice.  Her will was strong but her heart wasnt.   God I miss her already so much..........    Rest in peace my baby girl

catching up

Yes, I am still alive.  (my spell check is on the blink, sorry) Trully sorry that I have not blogged lately.  I made up my mind in flagstaff while I was driving to a walmart parking lot for the night, I had put the destination in the gps unit and was following it to the parking lot. It told me to get on west I-40 and I told it that I didnt want to go west that I wanted to go east!!  Thought about it for a sec or 2 and realized that I did indead want to go east instead of west. So I turned west and headed for home.
Earlier in the day I had found a rv repair and welding shop and had called it only to get ahold of another rude individual of the indiam persuasian to hear him tell me to call back monday and even then it would be a week before he would even be close to getting to it.  So this didnt help my mood either.
When I was getting ready to leave this time I kept putting off the leaving date time and time again, should have listened to my inner voice but sometimes I get stuberon...  all the way to colo I was debating with myself about my actions and then all teh way to flagstaff I was still debating my actions.  Yes, sometimes I am hard headed and very very stuberon....  so anyway.
I stopped and threw all of the stuff that i could in the trailer to the rear of it to get the weight off teh tonge.  Risky move I know but i was tired, homesick already adn lacking any faith in fellow man at this point!!  I headed for home.  Left flagstaff at 6 pm stopped that night in gallup nm and spent the night.  Cricket was sick that night and had to go poop about every 1.5 hrs so we didnt get much rest. poor little girl, I felt so bad .
We left gallup about 930 am  and stopped in meade ks about 8 pm  stayed in a nice little park on teh east side of town, very nice place.  headed out about 9am and pulled into peggy adn garys about 4pm.
I am done traveling for teh winter, I thought about alot of things while driving all those miles. I have always  went for drives when needing to think about things.  Ussually doesnt take that many miles to get it all thought out though lol    I thought about my old job, my ex wife .  My dads death, about all the stuff that had been going on in my life for the last few yrs.  How unhappy I had been and stressed beyound any and all boundryies that anyone should have to deal with.  I feel fortunant thaqt I actually came out of it all with my sanity.   I figured out that I had been running in a way  from all the bad memories that were haunting me. I needed this summer like a drowning man needs a life preserver.
I found myself again basically, :O)    and it feels good to be home again where my family and friends are..  I loved traveling around adn I really love gold prospecting and that will be a part of my life forever :O)  but I need a home base, a place of my own taht I can make just the way I want it. Roots that I have put in the ground that will grow to be just one part of my dream and life..
I have 3 acres now that I am starting to work on, alot of work ahead of me thats for sure. There is nothing and I mean nothing on these three acres except a few trees and praire grass.  But its mine to do with as I want adn how I want to shape it to my eye and heart.   I am going to build a small house on it to start with, not sure if it will be a normal house or a cordwood house, really want to build a cordwood home but I really want to move into a house soon.  Yes :O)  the rv is really small now and I want to stretch out and have some room to do that lol    Finances is going to be tight that is for sure but if I can get it built and inclosed  I can fix it up the rest of the way as I  go along adn have the money.
Peggy adn Gary are such wonderful friends....  Not for them I would not have my 3 acres. I dont have the words to exspress my gratitude and love for them.  they have been there for me on more than one occasion and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for being my friends..

So I am giving up the nomad style of life that I have been living, I will still take trips and vacations and who knows, I might hit the road again sometime in the future but I will have my place to come back too.  I am not one of those that can be happy with the road as my home, I need my roots in the dirt somewhere :O)   It has been a learning curve and its has been fun :O)  I would like to have run into a few of you all that I follow but whol knows, maybe one day I still will.
I am keeping the blog going but it will have pictures and stuff about my place being built from the ground up.  I hope you all will still follow me along my journy.   I have to build my house, garage/shop, laggon and put a well in.  Going to get a garden going and so many other things :O)   It ought to be intertaining to watch  :O)    I'm  keeping teh blog name the same :O)  I know now the direction I am heading but the destination is still unknown..    be safe all  :O)   will be putting pics up soon of the place and what I have been doing on it.

dang dang and dang!!

you know, sometimes I wonder if I am doing the right thing here or is fate trying to tell me something?  First, on the trip out to colo I broke a fan belt and over heated the rv pretty bad. Pulled over and fixed the belt and filled back up with anti freeze.  Had been fighting the wind really badly by the Way. Figures, the day I decide to leave the wind blows 900 mph from the south.  anyway.  got the belt and stuff fixed all the while standing and laying in sand burrs. Not fun.  Got to colo just in time for the first big snow of the season (8") so I headed south but first I had to buya  new gas cap, the other one is on top of a gas pump in woodland co.   grrrrr.  got everything back in shape and then headed to warmer regions...  saw the four corners while I was on the go. took pictures but forgot the camera to post them on here.
I am in arizona now.  its been along drive.  and I just found another problem with the rv.  The trailer is too heavy for the hitch.  So its sagging pretty badly and the back bottom of the wall to the bathroom has problems now.  I need to find some metal and weld some bracing up under the rv for some extra support!!!   WTF!!!!    Oh yea,  stopped for gas back north aways and asked a Indian guy if he knew of any welding shops was and he said yea...  and then told me that it would cost me 20 bucks for teh information!!!   &(#^$%^_#@$&#  #*$&#*&%$B!!!!! #%&%).........   needless to say I did NOT pay the old bastard anything....    Drunken assed Indian!!!!   grrrrr
So here I sit in flagstaff arizona wondering just what the hell I am doing here!!  Pretty much tired of my luck not working very good.....  I did locate a welding shop have to see tomorrow if they will at least have the metal I need, I can cut it and weld it myself since I did bring the welder with me again. Will ask to see just how much they will charge me first.  then decide...
Soooo,  The fun has not been in this trip like the colo trip was 2 months ago.  Maybe I used up all my luck then and now it catching up with me.   One more major thing goes wrong and I will might just say piss on it and go home and get a real job and grow up :O)    anyway, got to go.  be safe and talk later to everyone.     grrrr

holy cow

nothing like driving into a blizzard lol  not really but we had one last night as we slept. So much for hanging out at buena vista, way to cold at night and tooooo much snow.  Headed south, at salida at one of my old haunts for free wifi and then going down 285 for a while, will see how wolf creek pass is before taking it. Might have to go farther south into new mexico then across, not sure but i 'm not staying here.

Saw a few of the old gang yesterday and today, some have found shelter for the winter there in BV and some are headed south for the winter.  Couldnt believe that one of them paid me back with some money I loaned them, didnt really exspect it so it wasa nice surprise.   Everyone is planning on hitting cache creek again in the spring, will be likea home coming or something like that lol.

Cricket is doing okay with the altitude so far but it will be better on her to get lower.  I had thought the cat would have gotten used to not moving and have to get broke back in to the moving routine but she never complained or anything, just acted like it was the norm.
well, better go for now, be safe all
